Important Notice - Blood Tests - National Issue
A supplier to the NHS has reported a global shortage of equipment used for taking blood tests.
Anyone who needs a test for urgent health problems will still get one but where your clinician recommends that it’s safe to do so you may be asked to come back for a test at a later date, or your appointment may be rescheduled.
Given the nature of the shortage, we cannot give an exact date for when the test will be rescheduled, but please be assured that if your condition or symptoms require it, then you will get a test, and we will be re-booking your test when supplies become more easily available.
General Practice Data for Planning and Research: NHS Digital
We are required by law to share some data from patients’ clinical records with NHS Digital under the General Practice Data for Planning and Research Directions 2021.
The NHS needs data about the patients it treats in order to plan and deliver its services and to ensure that care and treatment provided is safe and effective. The General Practice Data for Planning and Research data collection will help the NHS to improve health and care services for everyone by collecting patient data that can be used to do this.
What patient data we collect
This collection will start from 1st September 2021. Patient data will be collected from GP medical records about:
- any living patient registered at a GP practice in England when the collection started - this includes children and adults
- any patient who died after the data collection started, and was previously registered at a GP practice in England when the data collection started
If you do not want your identifiable patient data to be shared outside of your GP practice for purposes except for your own care, you can register an opt-out with your GP practice. This is known as a Type 1 Opt-out.

Important information patients about GP Appointments
As you will be aware, COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is an illness that is spreading across the UK. As such, Bharani Medical Centre are taking actions to protect our patients. Our aim is to significantly reduce the footfall through our surgery in order to reduce the risk of spreading the virus, in line with national guidance.
How have things changed at my GP surgery following Covid-19?
E-Consult: a new and easy way to get advice from a doctor, obtain general medical advice about a condition, request a sick note or make any other administrative request. Follow the link at the top of the page or click here.
Telephone consultations: You can no longer directly make face-to-face appointments with a doctor. All appointments have now been converted to telephone consultations. The doctor may also conduct a video consultation if they feel this is more appropriate. Authorisation for face-to-face appointments can only be made once the doctor has assessed the case and deemed this absolutely necessary.
Prescriptions: You can request repeat prescriptions online by downloading the NHS app or your Vision Online account. Prescriptions will now be sent directly to your nominated pharmacy electronically to reduce need for paper printouts and surgery attendance.

NOTICE TO ALL VISITORS
